Monday Sports Update – Cowboys Hail Mary Fails Against Vikings

Cowboys Come Up Short Against Vikings

(Arlington, TX) — Dak Prescott threw up a Hail Mary as time ran out to no avail as the Cowboys fell 28-24 at home to the Vikings on Sunday Night Football. Prescott finished with 397 yards and three touchdowns along with the interception. Amari Cooper caught a touchdown and notched 147 receiving yards. Randall Cobb had 106 receiving yards and a touchdown for the Cowboys while Michael Gallup also caught a touchdown. Ezekiel Elliott rushed for just 47 yards on 20 carries for Dallas, which drops to 5-and-4. The Cowboys will visit the Lions on Sunday.

Texans Resume Action At Ravens Sunday

(New Orleans, LA) — On the hardwood, the Rockets are back in action tonight when they visit the Pelicans in New Orleans. Houston is coming off a 117-94 win over the Bulls in Chicago on Saturday. The Rockets are 6-and-3 to begin the season.

Stars Fall To Jets In OT

Denny Hamlin Wins NASCAR At Phoenix

(Avondale, AZ) — Denny Hamlin punched his ticket to the championship round as he won the Bluegreen Vacations 500 in Avondale. Hamlin held off teammate Kyle Busch, who also took the final spot in the championship round. Ryan Blaney finished third while Kyle Larson took fourth. Kevin Harvick rounded out the top five. The championship four for Homestead is set. Martin Truex Junior, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch will compete for the cup series crown.

(Undated) — In college football action, number-22 Texas defeated Kansas State at home 27-24 on Saturday. The Longhorns improved to 6-and-3 and will visit Iowa State on Saturday. Texas A&M returns to action Saturday after being on the bye. The Aggies are 6-and-3 and will host South Carolina. Texas Tech defeated West Virginia 38-17 on Saturday. The Red Raiders are 4-and-5 and will welcome TCU to town on Saturday. TCU fell 29-23 in three overtimes at home to number-10 Baylor on Saturday. The Horned Frogs are 4-and-5. Number-10 Baylor is 9-and-0 and will host number-eight Oklahoma on Saturday. North Texas lost 52-17 at Louisiana Tech on Saturday. The Mean Green are 4-and-6 and will be on the bye this weekend. Number-20 SMU took down East Carolina 59-51 at home on Saturday. The Mustangs are 9-and-1 and on the bye this week. West Texas A&M beat Texas A&M-Kingsville 35-31.
