Matt Martindale and Charlie Shafter To Play Panhandle PBS Yellow City Sound Live Concert Series.

Panhandle PBS is hosting a night full of great music from a local celebrity.

Singers Matt Martindale and Charlie Shafter will be featured during the Yellow City Sound Live Concert Series Thursday, September 12th at 7pm in the Panhandle PBS studios, 2408 S. Jackson St.

Martindale is a Pampa native and the lead singer of popular Texas country band Cooder Graw, which was formed in Amarillo in 1998.

Shafter, who is Martindale’s brother-in-law, started coming to Amarillo as a teenager in the late 1990s and began performing with Martindale and has played in Amarillo and Lubbock.

The concert is part of Panhandle PBS and FM90’s promotion of “Country Music” the new eight-part series from Ken Burns premiering at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 on Panhandle PBS.

Upcoming concerts in the series will include blues-rockers Cody Jasper and Johnny Reverb on October 3rd and husband-and-wife duo Courtney Patton and Jason Eady on November 21.
