Arrest Made In The Shooting On Mesa Verde Drive

The Amarillo Police Department is investigating the death of a woman in the 3200 block of Mesa Verde Wednesday afternoon.

Once on scene, Officers found a juvenile female with a gunshot wound who was taken to a local hospital where she later died of her injuries.

Police say a young man was at the house giving CPR to the victim and is cooperating with the investigation.

18-year-old Leontre Hays was later arrested and booked into the Potter county Jail for Murder.

This case is still under investigation by the Amarillo Police Homicide Unit.
